Screening for six substances:
- THC (grass, marijuana)
- Methamphetamines (ice, ecstasy)
- Amphetamines (speed)
- Morphine (derivatives of opium poppy including heroin, morphine, codeine)
- Cocaine
- Benzodiazepines (Serepax, Mogadon - prescription type substances)
In-built Celsius temperature strip (ensures "fresh" specimen), 6 in-built adulterant strips (Oxidants, pH, Specific Gravity, Creatinine, Glutaraldehyde and Nitrite). Result in around 2.5 to 3 minutes. Individually pouched. Provided in a sealed sterile foil pouch, removing the potential for legal issues on the basis of prior contamination. Unlike other cups sold in Australia where the Cup/collection vessel is provided in unsealed mode. This makes the LaneWorkSafe Split Cup the professional choice for all applications. Shelf-life 18 months.

Dehydration has long been misunderstood by many facets of the Australian community, in particular the various workplaces that exist, sometimes being overlooked and dismissed as unimportant.
Things have changed and it is now recognised as a matter of concern. Persons who are in a dehydrated condition are more inclined to suffer physical tiredness at work, under perform including making poor decisions and suffering reduced reflex reaction times.
There is strong evidence that dehydration may lead to health issues including diabetes, high blood pressure, kidney disease and increase issues of poor digestion and other serious conditions.
Simply by increasing the intake of water the dehydration problem maybe eliminated. Responsible Employers and Managers should provide adequate clean drinkable water in the workplace and encourage employees to consume on a frequent and regular basis. Of course the provision of adequate toilet facilities is also vitally important.
The measuring of Specific Gravity is only one method available to indicate Dehydration it is considered the most cost effective, simplest, quickest and easiest. By the use of handheld digital refractometer, a subjects urine (3 drops) is placed in the well of the device and simply pushing a button, a result will be provided in less than 5 seconds. No special requirements or skill required to operate. Simply follow the instructions.
The device is easily cleaned using a dry clean tissue or run under clean water which at the same time calibrates the device.
Through on going education as to the importance of increased water intake and occasional monitoring using the handheld device all employees' overall health and workplace safety can be improved.
